Advance wars days of Ruin is a strategy game developed by Intelligent Systems and published by Nintendo. As the other games of the series you embody a general who gives orders to his units on the battlefield. However, there is no longer the super powers that could be found in other games and units are less powerful to give more importance to strategy and numbers. However, the generals all have advantages and drawbacks which affect some units.
Advance wars days of Ruin offers a different experience compared to the preceding opuses. It is much darker and portrayed the war in order to make a feeling of real and more shocking. The story takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where only 10% of the world population escaped of a gigantic meteor shower striking the planet. This has created huge clouds of dust which are preventing any life to proliferate. New villages have been established and also various small armies from everywhere. It gives also an opportunity for people to create unhealthy bands of bad guys because justice is now only the law of the one who is the strongest!
Advance wars days of Ruin offers also an experience of online game where you can fight against the best commander of the world. This episode divides the advance wars community, some loving this new world, and the other hating that the cartoon aspect is not still there. However, the plot is excellent and the gameplay is still great. A game that all fans of strategy must have and so do those seeking a new experience.
