Max Payne

Max Payne is a third person shooter videogame developed by Remedy Entertainment and published by Gathering of Developers.

Max Payne is the videogame that represents exactly the sordid stories of devastated cops. In this game you will enter a world of despair, hate, and mostly revenge. As you peacefully come home from work, where you expect to find your wife and daughter for a nice evening, you find instead a couple of junkies completely stoned on a new drug called Valkyr waiting to attack you. After sending them away, you realize that they didn't only come for you but also killed your wife and your baby daughter.

Filled with anger and hate, and after three years spend mourning your family, you join back the force to investigate on the Punchinello Mafia family who is responsible for the distribution of the drug Valkyr. You'll spend your time in the darkest places of the city searching for the responsible and killing everybody in your way.

In this very somber ambience, you'll have the opportunity to use many times your guns. The game relies on really intense action sequences inspired by the entrance scene in the Matrix where you are alone surrounded by heavily armed guards, and you manage to make it alive without a scratch. Also inspired by the film, is the use of bullet time. Time will slow down, giving you time to perform special moves, avoid bullets, and shoot with more precision. This will aid you a lot when you're facing ten guys with automatic weapons.

With a scenario worthy of any Hollywood movie and a fun and varied gameplay, Max Payne will completely obsess you until you finish the game. Some sequences are very dark (such as Max Payne's nightmares) and the game is recommended for a mature public.

Max Payne reviews

It's an outstanding and original action game that's not just different from all other shooters to date, but also in many ways superior.
