Medal of Honor : Airborne is a first person shooter of which the action takes place during the WWII. The game was developed by Electronic Arts, and is available on Xbox, Xbox360, PS2, PS3, and PC.
Medal of Honor : Airborne is the last version of the long series of Medal of Honor games. The main novelty of this version is the possibility to perform parachute jumps. As a matter of fact the players plays as a paratrooper and every mission starts in the same way : the player is in a plane with his allies and gets ready to be parachuted. Once the big jump made, the player is free to head toward any direction, and therefore he can chose where he wants to land so as to start his mission.
Nevertheless the player is highly recommended not to land too far away from the safe zones if he doesn't want to find himself right in the middle of an enemy area, and be an easy prey. Once on dry land, the player enjoys more freedom than in the previous versions in so far as he can now decide which objective he wants to complete first, and which one he will keep for the end.
The player has an arming true to the spirit of the WWII period, the experts will therefore be happy to find the M1-Garand and the Thomson, so peculiar to the series of Medal of Honor. The musical atmosphere is also faithful to the series, and is composed with symphonies and convincing voices.
An online multiplayer game mode is also available, to allow you to face your friends with rocket-launchers and so on...

The single-player campaign doesn't get cooking until the last two levels, but those two levels combined with solid multiplayer make it worth enlisting in Airborne.

Medal of Honor: Airborne does the franchise proud. But don't be fooled by the title, this game has little to do with the Air Force. It's your standard, on-the-ground, WWII shooter, although you do start every mission getting ejected from a plane. The action is fun, well balanced, and realistic. Technically the game is very solid, but the weapons feel a bit skittish. It will take a bit of compromising to get them to perform the way you want, but that period of adjustment is relatively short.

It should come as no surprise that Electronic Arts is bringing a new installment of Medal of Honor--its celebrated series of World War II first-person shooters--to the PS3. What might come as a surprise is that the company is taking the opportunity to introduce some major innovations to the series, the kinds of innovations few would expect from the gaming behemoth anymore.
